Raised in New Zealand, she studied industrial design for two years at Victoria University of Wellington, and continued her studies at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where she graduated in 2011. Her work is characterised by pure forms which highlight material properties.

Saige and Skye

Fiber artist Jolynn Vandam transforms the beauty of the nature surrounding her into one of a kind hand woven wall hangings. Each unique piece is woven on a loom and is made with natural fibres, including heavenly soft Merino wool roving to add lush texture. The pieces hang from hand picked drift wood from the southern BC coast or pure copper.

Sarah Marie Interiors

Sarah-Marie founded her company in 2010. Her vision was to create a company that forced people to step outside of their comfort zone and to celebrate their individuality by expanding their design horizons and introducing them to new concepts which they may not have otherwise considered. With work being done all over the lower mainland, she is known for her timeless approach and detail oriented manner.

Scarlet Splendour

Ashish Bajoria and Suman Kanodia, Kolkata-based siblings, founded Scarlet Splendour in 2014. The two combined their common passion for design and their maximalist sensibilities to debut their extraordinary design brand at Spazio Rossana Orlandi during Milan Design Week 2015. Its debut collections Vanilla Noir and Luce Naga were born out of the genius of Matteo Cibic.

Sé Collections

From 28 September – 1 October, Vancouver design gallery SwitzerCultCreative will present a selection of pieces from Sé Collection II by leading talent Jaime Hayon at the Interior Design Show (IDS) Vancouver. The Spanish-based artist and designer will also take to the show’s Caesarstone Stage on 29 September as a keynote speaker.

Sé’s Collection II has a celebratory air. The pieces are curvaceous, lithe and refined, and capture the sparkling Hayon spirit, as well as representing the maturity of Sé’s guiding principle: that from surface to structure, quality should be expressed throughout the entirety of furniture design.

Inspired by Hayon’s playful visual language, Sé invited him to create an entire collection. Hayon sought stimulation from two key sources: musical instruments and insects. After looking at strong curvilinear shapes – violins, flutes, beetles, the harp – Hayon sketched the Collection’s furniture forms, analysing them in terms of materials and the subsequent manufacturing process, then transformed them into this coherent family.

Shipway Living Design

At SHIPWAY Living Design, it’s more than designing objects and spaces, it’s about telling a story.

All of the wood we use comes from a sustainably-managed community forest on Cortes Island, BC, which enables us to have a very unique connection to the material, land, and people. This story becomes embedded in all the products we make and becomes a story for our clients to connect with and make their own. We have a strong commitment to using sustainably-sourced materials and products that have the highest level of environmental certifications. All finishes and glues are water and/or plant based to further our commitment to the environment.

This year at IDS Vancouver,  we will be launching a new line of tables featuring natural stone tops that are made from off-cuts from the production of countertops. We saw this as a great opportunity to divert this material from being discarded and upcycle it into products for the home. The natural stone is a great compliment to the natural wood we use.

After the great success of the “SOU’EASTER light wall” from last year’s IDS Vancouver, we will also be debuting a new lighting installation at this year’s show.

In addition to our product lines, we also take on custom design and build projects for clients that appreciate adding environmentally conscious pieces to their homes or establishments. We do everything from small custom tables and lighting to large scale sculptural installations. Please feel free to connect if you have any questions.

Tiny Badger Ceramics

Tiny Badger Ceramics is a small-batch production ceramics studio based in San Diego. Founded in 2015 by Heather McCalla, Tiny Badger creates handmade, functional wares for the home and table. The forms and textures are drawn from vintage glassware that Heather has collected over the years, bringing new life – and a modern twist – to these classic forms. All wares are porcelain and are made using the process of ceramic slip casting. The slip is tinted in a variety of colors, and the finished wares are left unglazed on the exteriors to showcase the silky, matte finish of the porcelain. Interior surfaces are finished in a glossy white glaze, highlighting and complementing the clean simple lines of the forms.

Wronko Woods

Our process of object making utilizes traditional pairings of domestic materials with processes that resemble the natural landscape native to Canada. The physical structure of each piece is influenced by the simplicity of minimalist sculpture, and enhanced by craftsmanship, texture and marquetry. Our hope is that at home, our pieces can represent a reunion with the wilderness – its primary source of inspiration; a reconnection with craft and nature.
